There was a storm coming and the national weather service had issued a warning...but I was rding on a perfectly calm day(first clue)..and she got worse and worse...as it got closer and closer..it was the woods she was the worst in..when we go to the open she calmed down, till it hit!
It is the post "Ride the Storm".

We are going to start to try group riding next...have a trip planned and want to ride WITH the group. Good advise with the mental prep...and physical too!allhorsestuffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05301081722884351021noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7336708980606836703.post-48654356356460208732011-03-24T20:01:53.580-05:002011-03-24T20:01:53.580-05:00great tips, and I try to practice all of these. You are so lucky to be out on the trails already.Horses Are Our Liveshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10982276279029143883noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7336708980606836703.post-78347050147625938012011-03-23T08:26:36.711-05:002011-03-23T08:26:36.711-05:00Great post! If they stop and see something (go on alert, I call it), I pay attention and they know it. If I reassure them, we move on. If I feel scared at what I see, perhaps we should move away at a pace and direction that I dictate.
I also don't ask a horse to do anything I wouldn't do myself on foot. If I wouldn't do it, why should they have to?
Really enjoyed this post. People need to remember to have fun with their horses. That's the whole point of having them and sometimes we lose sight of that.Mikeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03574914465998507310noreply@blogger.com
